ABOUT PAPA SAU

I've lived on Kauai for 40+ years and surfing Hanalei Bay has given me three decades of design experience. Surfing in the HLSA island wide circuit longboard division opened my creativity to produce high performance longboards. I also make EPS epoxy boards in all shapes and sizes. I like to make boards to inspire people to keep surfing and enjoy every wave that comes their way. Fitting board style and size to the rider comes with being out in the waves daily. Seeing how and where they surf along with body height and weight I can calculate a design spec for that individual person. I've always wanted to shape my own surfboards, and with the blessing of Ke Akua it has been a very successful journey. With that success, giving back is just as important. I've donated boards for fund raisers in our community, given team rider trade-ins to keiki (kids) that are less fortunate, and just trying to help out where I can. I live to surf and surf to live!
